Working together for democracy, stability, and a strong Europe
Standing together for truth, fairness, and openness
At PILLER, we are convinced that only a strong Europe with a common economic area and a common currency can secure jobs and our competitiveness.
Furthermore, we are only competitive because teamwork for us means pulling together across departmental, national, and corporate boundaries. Our team includes employees at our locations in the USA, China, India, Australia, Korea, Singapore, and Brazil, as well as colleagues from many nations who work at our headquarters in Moringen.
They all make us successful. Only together can we overcome the challenges of our global business activities and achieve our goals. Democracy and a strong European Union are prerequisites for this, too. They stand for security, freedom, and equality for all, the rule of law, peace, and the respect for human rights.

Not only is a clear stance on these issues important to us internally, we also position ourselves visibly externally – in election years and in the periods between.
Why is this important for PILLER?
Christoph Böhnisch, PILLER Managing Director
As a company, we bear social responsibility. Since the European elections, we have seen social developments that we want and must take action against. These include election posters in Moringen defaced with defamatory or insulting slogans, and physical attacks on politicians campaigning for election in other small and large towns. We are concerned that a constructive exchange of views, the achievement of consensus, and joint problem-solving are increasingly giving way to populist positions, the division of society, and the exclusion of entire population groups. None of this is consistent with our values – and we want to make that clear.

What do we stand for as a company?
Christoph Böhnisch, PILLER Managing Director
For us, there is no question that we must be part of a strong, stable European Union! The common currency and free trade in a single market without national borders secure our economic performance and jobs in our country.
From my perspective and that of the entire company, it is important to cast your vote. To stand up not exclusively against something, but for something. For Germany as part of the European Union, for fairness, for truth, and for a society that does not exclude. We are convinced that a Dexit, i.e. Germany's withdrawal from the EU, as repeatedly called for, would be a devastating economic disaster for every individual company, for all small and medium-sized businesses, and for Germany as a whole.
What do we stand for as a company?
Stephan Merkel, PILLER Managing Director
We conduct over 50 percent of German trade with EU members, making the EU the most important market for German products. A study by the German Economic Institute estimates that after five years, gross domestic product would be an estimated 5.6 percent lower. We would lose €690 billion in value added. As a result of a Dexit, around 2.5 million jobs would be at risk.
I would also like to emphasize that, regardless of elections, we are convinced that democracy and the European idea are always the prerequisites for our success as a team with our colleagues from many nations here in Moringen and across national borders. But above all, they are prerequisites for pleasant, peaceful coexistence. This is what we are committed to.

TEAM PILLER: Standing side by side for our democracy and a strong Europe!
Only together can we overcome challenges and achieve our goals
