[Moringen, Germany, Dezember 7th, 2023] Piller Blowers & Compressors GmbH, based in Moringen, Northeim district, has been on a growth path in recent years. “After around 77 million euros in 2021, we achieved sales of 97.3 million euros last year. We also recorded a record order intake of 125 million euros,” says Stephan Merkel, who manages the company’s business together with Christoph Böhnisch. At the Moringer location alone, 52 new jobs were created this year and 11 new trainees were hired. The continued high demand for PILLER's customized high-performance blowers and compressors for the process industry indicates continued growth. 

“The construction project makes our success story visible to the outside world and is a clear commitment to the Moringen location. Moringen is and remains our central location,” emphasizes PILLER CEO Christoph Böhnisch. “We are investing a sum in the low double-digit million euro range to expand our production capacities and thus secure existing jobs in the long term and create new ones.”

Work starts in February

After successful discussions with banks and extensive planning, the old administration building and a scrapyard with all the buildings on it at the eastern end of the company property will be demolished in February 2024 as the first step. Before the demolition, PILLER makes the old administration building available to the Moringen volunteer fire department for a realistic exercise.

The construction project includes a covered transfer path that will connect the existing with the new workshop, a new warehouse with a floor area of 1919 m², as well as an additional workshop with a floor area of 4947 m². Adjacent to the factory hall, office space, social rooms and rooms for customer acceptance will be built with a view of the factory hall. A new canteen will probably also be built in a second construction phase.

The building application for this extensive construction project has already been submitted. Mathias Albrecht from Albrecht + Weisser Architekten in Northeim, who is accompanying PILLER as an architect, assumes that building permits will be issued around March. Construction is scheduled to start at the end of April or beginning of May next year. The construction period for the halls will take approximately until the end of 2024 and the entire project will be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
