PILLER takes over majority stake in Sunteco

Piller Blowers & Compressors GmbH has held 75.1 percent of the shares in the Korean joint venture Sunteco since April 1st. The company, with which PILLER has been cooperating for years, is a leading company in the development and provision of systems for waste heat recovery from steam processes based on PILLER MVR technology.

Piller Blowers & Compressors GmbH has held 75.1 percent of the shares in the Korean joint venture Sunteco since April 1st. The company, with which PILLER has been cooperating for years, is a leading company in the development and provision of systems for waste heat recovery from steam processes based on PILLER MVR technology. Sunteco looks back on 30 years of experience in this area. Since 2013, when the joint venture was established, the company has supplied around 10 systems and 58 PILLER blowers and compressors to the Korean petrochemical market.

“I think, the knowledge and experience of the Sunteco team will play a key role in the future development of our market position in industrial heat pump applications. I’m really looking forward to even more intensive collaboration,” emphasizes PILLER Managing Director Christoph Böhnisch. The Sunteco team will continue to focus on the petrochemical industry in Korea and Southeast Asia, but will also support PILLER worldwide in implementing heat pump applications. Sunteco managing director Min H. Gu, who holds the remaining 24.9 percent of the company, also looks forward to the closer cooperation: “Together we have a great opportunity to become the market leader for industrial heat pumps in the petrochemical industry in Asia and around the world.” 

The company name has now been changed from Sunteco Limited to Piller Sunteco Ltd to make the membership of PILLER visible at this level as well.
